マオイゴルフリゾートは、米国テキサス州生まれの世界的なゴルフ場設計家ロバート・ボン・ヘギーにより1994年7月12日に開場され、絶妙なベントワングリーンの配置とその質にこだわりぬいた名門ゴルフリゾートです。
ホテルが併設されております。ゴルフ場内は、「ペケレコース」・「マオイコース」・「ワッカコース」の3コースに分かれ、総距離10,427ヤード全27ホールの開放感あふれる自然豊かな丘陵コースとなっています。
北海道夕張郡長沼町の美しい原地形を生かしたうねりの中に沢を使ったハザードを仕掛けたり、池やバンカーを効かせるなど様々な趣向に満ちており、何度も挑戦しがいがある緊張感あふれるコースレイアウトは多くのプレーヤーの心を掴んでやみません。
「ペケレコース」の名物ホール1番は、レギュラーティー385ヤードで、谷越えPAR4のミドルコースです。「マオイコース」では、PAR4の8番ホールが名物ホールとして有名です。セカンドショットが沢越えとなるうえ、最終的にはきつい傾斜のグリーンを控えている難コースです。「ワッカコース」で名物の8番ホールは、緩やかな右ドッグレッグPAR5のロングホールで、フェアウェイ右側にある大きな池がプレッシャーを与えます。グリーン手前と左側に点在する4つのバンカーを回避しながら、正確なアイアンショットが決め手となります。コース内には、充実した300ヤード26打席の練習場が併設されていますので、プレー前後の調整や自主練習に利用できます。
車でのアクセスは、札幌市内から道央自動車道・江別東IC経由で約40分、新千歳空港より国道337号線を走ると約40分で到着します。
