湯の谷コースは58年の歴史を誇る熊本で一番古い名門コースです。
昭和27年秋に開場。 ゴルフ場の設計の名匠である、井上 誠一氏、保田 与天氏が設計を手掛け、ブルトーザーなどの機械を使用せず、自然の地形をそのまま生かしてつくられた、まさに手づくりのゴルフコースです。
各コースごとに自然の織りなす変化を味わいながらプレイができ、それが湯の谷コースの一番の魅力となっています。
