高千穂カントリー倶楽部は、名匠・小笹昭三氏設計により1978年７月に開場したゴルフ場です。
車での来場は九州自動車道、溝辺鹿児島空港ICより２５キロメートル。電車での来場は鹿児島中央駅からＪＲ日豊本線に乗り約50分で霧島神宮駅、そこからタクシーで8分ほどです。
霧島高原ならではの山岳地形を見事に生かしながら作られたコースレイアウトは、比較的なだらかなアウトコースとややアップダウンの多いインコースがあり、初心者から熟練ゴルファーまで満足のいくプレーが可能です。名物ホールの16番ティーグランドからは霧島連山を一望でき、雄大な景色を楽しみながら豪快な打ち下ろしと戦略性に富んだロングホールを楽しむことができます。またコース内で標高の一番高い３番グリーンからは桜島、錦江湾、快晴時には開聞岳を望むことができます。
アプローチ練習場、パター練習場もあるので実践的なトレーニングに利用することができます。
また隠れた人気食として、プレーの合間の仲間との団欒に、レストランおすすめの鹿児島黒豚を使用したとんかつ定食をお召しになる方も多いようです。霧島神宮温泉郷に位置するゴルフ場のため、単純硫黄泉の天然温泉を楽しむことができ、プレー後の疲れを心地よく癒してくれることでしょう。
