千葉県香取市にある香取カントリークラブは、東関東自動車道、佐原香取ICからわずか3分の好立地にあるゴルフ場です。アクセスの良さから、大規模なコンペの開催地として利用されています。
1992年12月1日に開場された香取カントリークラブは、トーマス・ブレナン・クィン設計によるコースレイアウトが魅力のひとつ。戦略性に富み、シングルプレーヤーでも日ごろの腕前が試されます。また、ホールごとに違う個性的な表情は、プレーヤーを最後まで飽きさせません。18ホールのコース全長は6640ヤードですが、各ホールに配置された微妙に変化をもたせたバンカーや池がプレーの難易度を高めています。
スタートホールのアウト1番は、距離こそ短いものの、攻め方によってスコアが大きく違ってくるホールです。香取カントリークラブの名物ホールは、アウトの4番ホールです。わずかに右ドッグレッグしたミドルホール。4本の杉の木が目の前を遮り、ティーショットの攻め方を迷わせます。ロングヒッターは、思い切ってバンカー越えでグリーンを直接狙うのもよいでしょう。続く5番ロングホールは、右にOBゾーン、左に池が待ち構えており、正確なショットの方向性が求められます。谷や池を避けながら、緊張感あふれるラウンドを体感してみてください。
また、クラブハウスには、最大80人のパーティを行えるコンペルームが併設されています。さらに、毎週木曜日のレディースデーなど、お得なプランが数多く用意されているのも魅力です。仲間との気軽なゴルフや大人数のゴルフコンペの開催には最適なゴルフ場です。
