成田ゴルフ倶楽部のコースの特徴は、恵まれた地理的条件を生かした設計にあります。設計した川田 太三氏が「一話完結の物語が18編そろってひとつの長編物語になる。それがゴルフコースだと思う。」
と言う通り、各ホールが特徴を持って設計されています。
コースはゴルフの原点に戻った「ベント芝の１グリーン」「巧みに配置された池」「豊かな樹木」などが戦略性を高めています。成田ゴルフ倶楽部では、幅6メートル、約1000ヤードの進入路もイン・バウンズとされています。OB杭は、道路の外側（進入時の右側）に打ち込まれていて、ボールが道路に出てもノーペナルティでそこからプレーできます。
道路もイン・バウンズのうちというコースといえば、すぐに思い浮かぶのは、ゴルフの聖地「セントアンドリュース・オールドコース」17番ホール、別称“ロード・ホール”。設計者の川田氏は英国のゴルフ場も意識して設計したのでは？と感じさせるコース設計を堪能してみてください。
