「都心の高層ビル群を眼下に挑戦できる！東京都内の名門コース」
東京都多摩市にある桜ヶ丘カントリークラブは、1960年8月に開場。日本ゴルフの礎（いしずえ）を築いたコース設計家の赤星 四郎氏が設計しました。
京王線聖蹟桜ヶ丘駅よりクラブバスが出ているので、朝の渋滞を気にすることもなく、アルコールを飲みたいゴルファーにもおすすめです。多摩川に沿った青空の下、自然が織りなす風景に囲まれて、都内にいながら、さわやかなプレーを楽しめるでしょう。
桜ヶ丘カントリークラブは、多摩丘陵の一角に位置し、元々の地形を巧みに利用しているため、フェアウェイにも微妙なアンジュレーションがあり、攻め方に多彩な技術が求められるコースです。また、多摩の自然が色濃く残されており、プレーヤーの目を楽しませてくれます。
アウト・インの18ホールは、ゴルファーのチャレンジ精神をかきたててくれるでしょう。
アウトコースは、各ホールとも左サイドにバンカーなどのハザードが絶妙にレイアウトされており、スライス系が有利になります。各ホールバラエティに富み、多摩川・府中の街並みが見えて、眺望も素晴らしいです。
インコースは、アウトコースに比べると距離があるホールが多いですが、アンジュレーションを利用すると攻めやすく、アプローチはピッチショットが得策です。
2014年４月末日に、2グリーンから1グリーンにする工事を終了し、グリーン周囲の築造やティー、カート道等を一部改修して、戦略的かつ安全なコースに生まれ変わりました。
開場から50年以上が経ち、樹木は大きく成長していますが、日照や風通しの面でグリーンの支障とならないよう、樹木の管理やコースの隅々までの清掃を徹底しています。
桜のシーズンには、約1,300本の桜が開花し、多くのプレーヤーで賑わいます。
