歴史が育んだ美しい景観の中に展開されるのは、まさに名匠、井上誠一の世界。伊勢カントリークラブは、数ある井上誠一の設計コースの中でも傑作の一つとして数えられています。7000ヤードを越える十分な距離。さまざまなハザードが張り巡らされた傾斜のある砲台グリーン。絶妙な位置のガードバンカーが距離感を惑わします。挑戦意欲をかきたてられる難易度の高いコースでありつつも、それぞれの腕前に応じたプレーを楽しむことのできる考え抜かれたレイアウトになっています。フェアウェイやグリーンやバンカーの曲線が織り成す芸術作品のような景観美に魅了されつつも、ボールをどこに運ぶべきか思いを巡らせる。ゴルフならではの醍醐味を心行くまで味わえます。
フェアウェイが広いものの、数々の心理的なプレッシャーを感じる場面が多く、ティショットの飛距離や的確なアプローチも問われます。ゴルファーとしての本当の腕前が試されるゴルフ場です。
名物ホールは17番。池越えのショートホール。深いバンカーに囲まれた砲台グリーンが特徴です。井上誠一が開場記念杯でホールインワンを達成したことでも有名です。日本を代表する設計家の息吹が今も聞こえてきます。
