1960年10月に保田与天の設計により開場し、約半世紀にわたる伝統と歴史を誇ります。全18ホールは、自然の地形を生かしたアンジュレーションが効いており、戦略的にクリークや視覚的なトラップとなる木などが配置されています。目の錯覚が起きるため、難攻不落とも称されるグリーンが特徴的で、何度プレーしても飽きさせない工夫が随所に感じられます。一方で、比較的フェアウェイは広めで、ビギナーやレディースのプレーヤーも気軽に楽しめる配慮にも優れています。
練習用グリーンは、アウトスタート付近に2面完備しており、バンカー練習場や220ヤード27打席のドライビングレンジも充実しているため、スコアアップに役立てることができます。
コース内で有数の名物ホール12番は、通称「二百三高地」と呼ばれており、ドラコンホールにも推奨されています。残り約100ヤードを切った地点で、約30ヤードの上りがあることから、クラブの選択はプラスヤードで考えることが重要です。さらに、大胆なティーショットが楽しめる9番では、セカンドショットが川越えになることを考え、無理せずに刻んでいくことも攻略法のひとつです。上から絶景を見下ろすことができる15番は、グリーンへのアプローチが決め手となる手ごわいホールです。直接グリーン狙いでいくとボールが奥に転がるため、番手が１つ下のクラブに持ち替えて、ピンの手前をめがけて攻めることがスコアメイクの秘訣です。
