なだらかな起伏は殆ど自然のままに、生まれながらにして、ゴルフ場として人の手が入るのを、ひっそりと待っていたかのような、このコースは、そんな天然の地形に恵まれている。
巨匠・上田 治氏は、この地を見るなり「これはゴルフ場そのものだ。設計は私がやりましょう。」と自ら立候補された。
当初の「初心者には優しく上級者には挑戦的に・・・」との設計コンセプトは、その後の度重なるコースの改造にも引継がれて現在に至っている。
その設計コンセプトから、ティーショットは打ち下ろしのホールが多く、レギュラーティーからプレーする初級・中級者にはゆったりと大らかな気持でプレー出来る。だが上級者がひとたびフルバックから挑戦しようとすると、両サイドの松林がフェアウェイを極端に狭めて迫ってくる。設計者・上田氏の意のままに。
