宇部７２カントリークラブは、山口県の中心に位置し、昭和35年に開場。広大な土地と万年池を中心に4コースをかかえる西日本最大のゴルフ場です。阿知須コースは、全国ゴルフ場設計の師匠、上田治氏が担当。当クラブの中で最も歴史が古く伝統コースとして名が知られています。各ホールとも緑深い木々に完全セパレートされ、「自然の中でプレー」という言葉がぴったりするほど静寂な森に囲まれています。
勿論コースのグレードは86年、87年、92年ＰＧＡ競技の他、毎年山口オープンなども開催されていた本格的なチャンピンコース。
